Silk Dupioni


Silk dupionni is a classic fabric that has many many uses. Silk dupionni is all the rage in luxury draperies. Bridesmaids and brides have long loved the look of silk dupionni.

Silk dupionni is also wonderful when washed, because it softens and looses much of it's sheen. One of my favorite samples we have on the gallery is a silk dupionni jean jacket that we washed before making. I also have washed dupionni pants that feel great next to my skin.

Silk dupionni is great for special occasion garments for children. We adore the look of silk dupionni in christening gowns and holiday dresses. What little girl would not love a silk dupionni dress to make her feel like a princess.

Silk dupionni has a wonderful slubby texture that is derived from spinning together two strands of silk. Dupionni takes dye like no other fiber. We stock many of the cross-dyed silk dupionnis, as they are iridescent. These silks are woven with two different colors that create an iridescent quality that shimmers as you move the silk.
